Clinic Introduction

Expanding Specialized Medical Services, Including the Launch of a New Neurosurgery Department

Kita Alps Medical Center Azumi Hospital is a community hospital operating under JA Nagano Koseiren. In December 2025, the hospital officially launched its Neurosurgery Department and established a Shoulder Joint Treatment Center, further strengthening its clinical service offerings. The hospital has also introduced 3D mammography for “Otegaru Mammo,” a walk-in breast cancer screening service that requires no prior appointment. In September 2025, it was accredited as a Certified Clinical Training Facility by the Japanese Society of Hand Therapy, underscoring its ongoing commitment to delivering specialized medical care.

Advancing Medical Safety Through Core Principles and Multidisciplinary Team-Based Care

The hospital’s guiding philosophy is “to build a hospital trusted by the community through the delivery of high-quality medical care and meaningful contribution to society.” Medical safety is treated as a day-to-day priority, as demonstrated by the hospital’s active participation in JA Nagano Koseiren’s Medical Safety Promotion Month. Clinical care is provided through a multidisciplinary team (MDT) framework, fostering close collaboration among healthcare professionals across a wide range of disciplines. Staff members actively participate in and present at academic conferences both domestically and internationally, and the hospital devotes considerable effort to training the next generation of healthcare professionals as a designated initial clinical residency training facility.

Walking Alongside Patients Through Community Publications and Local Engagement

On weekdays, reception is open from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m., with consultations beginning at 8:30 a.m. The hospital is closed on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Saturdays, as well as Sundays and public holidays. Through its monthly newsletter “Kizuna” — meaning “bonds” — the hospital nurtures its connection with the local community. Community-oriented activities include hosting a hospital festival and an agricultural festival, as well as operating “Teruteru Salon,” a dedicated support salon for cancer patients. In January 2026, the hospital resumed patient visitation, reaffirming its commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for both patients and their families.
